BREATHING CIRCLE
How are you breathing now?
We believe that breathing goes so much deeper than the lungs: it is the means to realise the totality of existence within a moment, and this magic is open to everyone.
What is Breathing Circle?
A quick introduction…Breathing Circle is a free bi- monthly online gathering of individuals coming together to explore the power of their collective breath, through the ancient and time-tested organic science of yogic breathing, known as pranayama.
The term pranayama comes from the sanskrit word Prana- which can be translated as life, movement and/or in this context, breath- a force in constant motion. Pranayama is the method used to control and then expand this life force- bringing us closer to the primal energy of our own being. This is called connecting to source.
The practice is grounding, meditative and uplifting giving us the opportunity to feel deeply into that which gives us life. Each session is mindfully created and guided by experienced yoga and breathing teachers, Bess and Lucie, who live and work in London and Sri Lanka.

Inspiration
Each moment of every day we are breathing. The breath is our closest ally and sustainer of life. Your breath is tangible (it can be felt), believable (you can not deny its presence), understandable (available to all), and controllable (you can shape your breath at will). It is estimated our breath recycles between 17,000 and 24,000 times a day- around 15 times per minute, a cycle would be an inhale and exhale. We know that breath is directly affected by how we experience events in life- a shock may take the wind from our sails, while a moment of wonder fills us up and in times of deep focus we may pause breathing until with a gasp we come back to the surface. So it’s no surprise that this works both ways!
